In our previous post, we talked about how to ask the delivery driver to come back after you’ve finished work. Today we’ll cover how to ask the delivery driver to leave your package with the Security Guard (bǎoān).

The delivery guy calls. How do you ask him to leave the package with your security guard?
Watch the video, copy the phrases below and practice them later!
So, the delivery guy calls while you’re at work. Because let’s be honest, that always happens. * Sigh *
If your apartment’s bǎo ān is kind enough to babysit packages, here’s what you tell the delivery guy to do:
Leave the package with the guard.
包裹 放 保安那就行
bāoguǒ fàng bǎoān nàr jiùxíng
Leave the package with the guard.
包裹 放 门卫那就行
bāoguǒ fàng mén wèi nàr jiùxíng
Two ways to say Security Guard
保安
bǎo ān
门卫
mén wèi
Technically 保安 bǎoān are responsible for the security of everything on the premises while 门卫 ménwèi are responsible for watching the gates.
In daily speech, the two titles are interchangeable.
Also, adding 就行 jiùxíng to the end of a verbal instruction in Chinese is like starting the sentence with “It’s ok if …..”
Try it out. Practice lots! Watch the video above to practice your tones!
Next week we’ll teach you how to ask the
Kuaidi Driver to come back in fifteen minutes.
